I have been living in Africa for last couple of months. Its been an interesting experience.I came here few monts back with a certiain amount of trepidation in my mind. After all I was leaving all that was familiar for something that was completely unknown.
Africa for me was the images of wildlife and wilderness that I had seen on Disciovery Channel and National Geography.
After living here for sometime I am glad I came here.
For starters I was pleasantly surprised by the sheer number of Indians living here. There is an astonishing number of Indians from all parts of India working or running bussiness here.
While coming here I had thought of having to do without the Indian Grocerries but dear 'gujoo bhai' didn't think that way. On my arrival here was given the address of the 'indian grocerry' store which keeps anything from 'Amul ghee' to atta , sambar mix to channa massala all there. So I continued tocook the way I had been .Well not exactly as the gas stove gave way to the hot plate and eating out to pot luck dinners shared with other indian friends.I have exchanged numerous recipies. Learnt baking stuff like nankhatai and pastry puff.
These are things I would not have even dreamt of doing back in India.Afterall where did I have the time whereas here I have all the time in the world.
